Our team’s investigations revealed a very high number of broken links. The only possible reason (we ruled out a Google penalty) for the same was the migration had gone horribly wrong! Regaining traffic required us to dig deep and understand the source and structure of broken links and find a way to fix these.
Fixing broken links involves redirects, which can be a complex affair for sites of this magnitude. Fixing these broken links not only required us to understand the structure of the new website but the old one as well. We also discovered impacted areas that were not thought of earlier which, even the client was unaware of.
Having cracked the code to regain traffic, we still had a bigger problem to solve. Leads. Converting visitors. This required a deep dive into site usability and testing to find gaps across devices.
Once we had a clearer picture of user behaviour, it was a matter of implementing our recommendations to get the leads on an upward trajectory.
